Hi Scott,
Normally, the default value specified in
the smartbridges CPE units will match with the Cisco 350 settings. sB default
fragmentation value is 2346 which is compatible with any 802.11b complaint
access points and no need to change these values unless if there is higher
interference.
This adjustment may be necessary if we
deal with higher interference then we need to lower down the values to improve
efficiency in the packet transmission which avoids the packet loss.
I think you are referring to the Radio Identification settings, it
shows the value of the maximum packet data length is 2304 and it can be
changeable from the “AP radio hardware” settings and you will find
the fragmentation threshold column to adjust the necessary values.
Thank you
Kind
regards,
Seeni

Subject: [smartBridges] Cisco/Smartbridges compatibility
Hi
all,
Sorry
for the spam of the three lists, but they are all kind of related.
Was
reading my nighttime book (Cisco 350AP Manual) to learn more about
it.
(Good sleeping material!). I cam across something interesting. In
its
config, a hard coded value of Packet size is set to 2304.
Smartbridge
CPE has Frag level by default at 2336 (or something like
that)...
Got me to thinking... Do these two values conflict? Do I need
to
set all my smartbridge equipment to a Frag level of 2304? (or less)
Scott
