Haven't tried it between multiple switch hops. But I have a Trango
network and a 802.11b network on each tower with a switch between them.
Before I started trunking and setting up filtering of NetBios.. Network
neighborhood on the Trango supported PC's could see the PC's on the
802.11b network as clear as day. Didn't wait for further testing to
determine how wide spread. We just immediately started port filtering
and setting up trunking to make sure traffic went in onbe direction and
one direction only... to the gateway. Also closed off all NetBios ports
just incase... Ran same test after (i.e. Trango PC using network
neighborhood) everyone automatcially gone. Realize that ALL clients on
the network are within the same subnet.. Broadcast domain routing (what
a switch does) would not stop NetBios which uses a mulitcast (.255)
broadcast to find everyone... (at least thats what I understand). And
since everyone on same subnet... walla.
