Let's not forget that for us Americans, Veteran's day is to remember all veterans that fought to free countries like England, France, South Korea, South Vietnam and now Iraq.  Our brave men and women fought these wars on OUR behalf FOR foreign peoples.  These men and women gave life, limb, and their innocence to the horrors of war for people like us all over the world.

If anyone has a problem with the way this original post is worded, think twice about WHO the Internet is!  Yes, it is world-wide, and so has been our battles!  It may be Veteran's Day on an American calendar, but I'd like to think that people in England, France, and other countries would remember the Americans that have sacrificed for them!!

I hate getting political on a forum like this where politics DO NOT belong, but seeing this post from someone "correcting" someone else inspite of their own mistakes angers me.  Wayland, if you think THIS is the change that would make "America get on better" with other countries, then you have much to understand!

Michael,

America would get on better if people said things like *Our* County celibrates bla bla bla, not *THE* County. America is *A* country not *THE* country. The Internet is a world forum.

I apologise for my previous post where I said "It's Autum" where I should have said "It's Autum here". I realise how arogant and patriotic that can sound, sorry.

Wayland.

Subject: [smartBridges] Veteran's Day Wish from P15

Today the country celebrates Veterans day, and on behalf of the all those in this organization who have served in the military - in peace and in war, at home and abroad - we would like to wish everyone a Happy Veterans day.  To quote President Eisenhower, today we "solemnly remember the sacrifices of all those who fought so valiantly, on the seas, in the air, and on foreign shores, to preserve our heritage of freedom."  This year, we celebrate Veterans day with over 120,000 troops in Iraq and 10,000 in Afghanistan - both active duty and reserve troops, along with the thousands who serve every day protecting American interests in South Korea, the Far East and Central Europe.  We see on a daily basis the best and the brightest America has to offer serving in our Armed Forces, often separated from their families for months and enduring tremendous physical hardships on a daily basis.  Today, we thank you for your service, and wish you Godspeed and swift return to the safety of our shores and your homes.  Truly, we live in the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Thank you
