I don’t know, Bullit.  Having never been a Marine, I can’t say from personal experience.  But my Daddy used to tell me that there was no such thing as a “former” Marine.  He was in the 3rd Marine Division in the South Pacific during WWII.  He’s no longer with us, but he certainly saw his share.  He was a Marine his entire life and is probably still taunting swabbies about being around only to take the Marines where they needed to go.
