IIRC the USB error bug is about UHC USB Controller unavailable. As I noted, since the SDC boot from USB seems to work, I haven't felt it was important. But, it might relate to <after> boot the virtual USB key seems to be unavailable.
No panic. The system just continues to boot as far as displaying the Joyent graphic and CLI login, but after awhile it times out(no message) and reboots. I'll try installing from scratch again and see if what I ran into is an anomaly. Since I'm not familiar with what is supposed to be happening at that point I can't say for sure what the problem is.
