I continued my desktop experimentation with my Joyent Ubuntu image on my Intel NUC. The Ubuntu VM is booting properly, and I can VNC into the VM and see the desktop login. I am able to use the ENTER key to perform a GUEST login, but my mouse is not working. I was trying to "vmadm console UUID" into the Ubuntu KVM zone, but SmartOS hangs and I cannot get back to the SmartOS global console. I have to reboot the NUC with the power button.
I would like to just somehow get to the Ubuntu desktop from the NUC's primary display, but I'm stuck as to what to do. I've been scouring the SmartOS docs, but haven't come up with a solution. So, I've got TWO issues: (1) figure out how to get the mouse to work from VNC & (2) get the Ubuntu desktop to show up on the primary display. Any hints?
