I think there's a bit of a fundamental misunderstanding of what's going
on here and what vmadm console does. What you desire is not currently
possible.

vmadm console for a KVM instance does not magically redirect the VGA or
serial console to the device, you can logically think of it as running
socat to attach to a serial console, which is emphatically not a VGA
console.

There is no way to assign the hosts video device and console to a zone
such that it can be used to start an X11 session. Even more so, a
hardware virtualized guest has an entire set of virtualized hardware
that it uses for its VGA console. It's disjoint entirely from the hosts
video resources.

You should conceptually think of a zone as a remote host.
