Hi, I know there are colleagues in this list who work with DTP.
I teach a module on the subject at an MSc in translation. The program taught is FrameMaker and we are considering introducting InDesign as well, as it more widely used now (so they say). We teach students from all over the world and the course is offered in 25 language combinations. FrameMaker does not deal with Greek texts (yes, the language Greek), so my students have to produce a different course work. From next year, Arabic will be offered. I tried to find this info at Adobe website but could not come to a conclusion. Does any of these packages deal with Arabic texts? I mean, to be used by Arabic speaking people in Windows (I know, I know) XP Pro in English. I remember using Hebrew with PageMaker more than 10 years ago (on Mac) and it worked well (text was typed on Nisus and then imported), but PM accepted Hebrew characters. Thanks for any light shed on this, Ana ================================ Ana Luiza Iaria, MSc, MCIL, MITI, ATA member English and Italian > Brazilian Portuguese Translator Crawley, England (GMT) ================================ --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Sussex Mac User Group" group.
