This is proving such a faff. Why does anyone stick with Windoze?

I've now installed, erased and reinstalled 3 times and no luck at all.
The Internet Explorer icon isn't there, but the text is?!? When I
double click, it just asks what application I'd like to use to open
that file?

There is no evidence of it being online no matter whether I use
bridged or shared, airport or ethernet.... anyone with iChat AV want
to screenshare and take a look? I'm trying to install Windows XP
Professional Media Centre. The only thing I can think of, is that when
it asks for the SP3 CD during install, I just press cancel as it's not
in the box - the plan is to merely connect to update to SP2 or 3, so I
can then install Publisher for work file editing. I have no need to be
online any other time!!>

HEEEEELLLPPP!!
