Oops, I may have jumped the gun a little. After a bit of Googling around it seems that the appropriate firmware (R30 apparently) was released on 13th September. Strange this passed me by, but to be honest I'd pretty much given up following the mess by that point. I'll check when I get back home tonight to see if the Wireless Bridge mode is indeed available.
