I have never got Airdrop to work between devices, and tried more
machines than I could count.
Sometimes it works between iOS devices, but never with a Mac.

AirDrop is available on my Mid-2011 iMac but my oiPod doesn’t appear
in my Finder AirDrop window and the name of my iMac doesn’t appear
(or me) doesn’t appear in the share menu on my iPod even though
AirDrop is available in the share sheet.
Oddly, AirDrop on iPod touch and iPad Air can see each other but my
iMac is conspicuous by its absence.
I’m using “contacts only” on iOS.
Am I missing something?
