Dropbox is certainly a way. I use it where I'm pretty certain it is something I might need to keep, possibly synced over time.
For more casual stuff I use Dropycopy/Dropcopy Pro for transfers between iOS/ Mac. Seems to work for most the file types I want to use. There must be quite a few alternative direct 'drop' type solutions around.
