Please tell that to the people in Australia and in England who registered their guns like good citizens to find the next step was the police knocking on their doors to take them away when the anti-gun fools got their way.  No thanks.  All registration does is give the gvt the ability to come take the guns from law abiding citizens.  Criminals will still get guns.
 
Oh...Germany required registration too, right before making them illegal so that the people that had a backbone wouldn't revolt against Hitler.

why not?  people could still buy guns.  and the only people who should, (I repeat SHOULD) complain about registration  of their guns are those who would use them illegally.  And for black market sales, if used to commit a crime the weapon would be traced back to the seller, who would HAVE to fully cooperate with authorities just to be fined or possibly incarcerated for weapons violations.  Or maybe that is just a utopian idea.
