I never register software, except for Norton for services.
I do write the codes on the disk with permanent ink.
Any free download programs get burned to disk in the original
download form and any codes are written on the disk.
This has proven useful with free programs that were somewhat useful,
but were changed at a later date and were no longer available for free.
I keep a "download" folder that has the zipped programs and there unzipped
form in separate
folders. I burn the whole download folder every now and then for back up.
