I fall in line with Don Richmond on this issue. Don hits the nail on the head with:

"I believe you are much more likely to be injured by a wing or fuse than impaled by a skag."

There really isn't much of a safety issue here.

For some however the issue is generally more astetic and I'm guessing this was Bob's attempt at compromise.

But again, the CD for a contest can disallow, or allow skegs (or is it skags? I really like skags) by posting in contest announcement. A CD also has the authority to, and should not allow unsafe gear or practices, whatever that might be.

again, to quote Don, who also is a fine gentleman. I've also found him to be very wise as he says:
