Again, some feel that this has already happened. | If you use the wrong charger does it do any damage to the battery pack? Seriously, the difference between how NiMH and NiCd batteries are peak charged is that NiMH cells have a smaller peak. So if you use a NiCd charger on NiMH cells, it may `miss' the peak and keep charging even after it's full. Or it may not -- it depends on how sensitive it is. Overcharging at a high rate is definately very bad, and will destroy the pack quickly. If you use a NiMH charger on NiCd cells, the peak will be larger, so it'll probably be just fine, though it might stop before the battery is completely charged. Most NiMH chargers work fine with NiCd batteries too. Everything I just said is about peak chargers. If you're talking about a slow charger, the sort where it just puts C/10 or so into the battery, nothing bad will happen. NiMH cells will probably take longer to charge, having more capacity and a higher self discharge rate, but beyond that there's no issues. -- Doug McLaren, [EMAIL PROTECTED] Nine out of ten doctors agree that one out of ten doctors is an idiot.
