Saints are part of a known and established religion as far as I'm aware. To me personally, all supernatural belief is very similar, yes. Some people believe John Edward talks to dead people, some believe in voodoo, some believe in a god of some description. I don't really make much distinction between one supernatural belief system and another. I'm not sure John Edwardism is a religion - yet.
