There might still be issues with Ultra-DMA detect/setting, I would be happy to get a few success/failure reports, just email me directly.
Under NetBSD -current, the controller reports Ultra-DMA mode 4 capability, the drive I have is Ultra-DMA mode 5 and they end up communicating at Ultra 4. Looks OK, if Ultra-DMA mode 4 (Ultra/66) is actually the top speed of the controller.
