I did test again in a more controlled way as last test was done using
12VDC 1.2A switching PSU wall plug. Power cycling was fast, ~1
second off time, just disconnecting barrel connector and plugging it
back right away.

Please note that I also had same result pushing reset button instead
of power cycling. I did not test with other mSATA type yet. I did
have same behavior with other computer using same Transcend disk on
field.

New test I did:

- fsck my disk first (was clean)

I did test again with a Insteak lab source set to 12VDC @ 5A, source
is 0-18V 0-5A. I'm using 4ft 16AWG wire. And I do not power cycle or
use reset button anymore. I just add "shutdown -r 1 &" to my boot
script. So it boot Linux then wait 60 seconds then reboot. Gracefull
shutdown/reboot.

First test took 16 reboot to fail with grub error
Second test took 76 reboot to fail with not boot device

Then I have dd if=/dev/zero to cleanup my disk. And reinstall
everything using lilo as boot loader.

Same result

first log: 29 boot to bootfail
second log: 58 boot to bootfail

I have full boot log of that available.

NOTE:

Everytimes that fail, it took 15 seconds to detect the harddrive.

Good boot
