As far as I'm concerned if Symantec changes any of the code, then that
product is worthless. They have a talent for taking wonderful software
and ruining it. The one I use on my Window PC is pre-Symantic, but most
of the time that PC is turned off, and most of the little bit of time
that it's on the network on it is disabled.
I now have only one application that will not run on my Linux PC once I
figure that one out, it's bye bye Windows as a bootable OS. I can get it
to work fine with VMware but from VMware I can't burn the DVD, it's not
supported yet.
Next week I will be playing with running SDR software under Linux, there
are some very good versions out there that work fine, it's just a
question of me figuring out how to install the pieces so they talk to
each other.
Tomorrow I'm getting a new computer, the first one I have bought new
since 1986, I always piece one together or upgrade a old box, but I was
able to buy a fine machine for a good price.
Dell e9150
3.4GHz P4 Dual core 945 with 4M of cache
1 G of Ram
250G Internal HD
320G External HD
16X DVD burner
256M Video card
For $650, I'm a happy camper.
