Well it is a start. It is actually the same thing I did before dusting off my old Maya skills. Use the same/ similar hot keys from XSI in maya which others have said in other threads not to do. :) Dont use a XSI gui in maya, dont use shelves, no xsi hot keys its not allowed. You wont learn the Maya way. Baloney! I did learn how to have more than one explorer / outliner open so that was good.
