The group that owns the Foundry is a private equity firm, so a change of 
ownership every few years is a given. However its bought and sold as any 
investment. Its how a lot of private firms increase their money base.

On the plus side if it was ever sold to Autodesk it would then be accessible 
via the ARC licences for education which would be a great thing.

However given what Autodesk did with Softimage a very compelling case could be 
made to the Monopolies Board to block the sale. (which is one of the reasons 
Autodesk should have sold Softimage rather then killing it)

The Foundry also cant piss off its nuke customers either as there is now a much 
cheaper , yet still workable alternative in Fusion (which is now in the hands 
of a Savvy company).

Its going to be an interesting year next year ;)

the more mass Autodesk acquires, the bigger the chance of it finally collapsing 
in on itself,

but would also open the way to IHMO much-needed "new beginnings".
