The default limit for form submissions is 200000 bytes with Jetty. I'm not sure
why Solr is trying to send such large amounts of data to the shards though, the
only case I've seen this happening is with faceting -- Solr has to request
facet counts for specific values from the shards to get exact counts. Maybe
because of the sorting?
Anyway, you can change the limit by setting the
org.mortbay.http.HttpRequest.maxFormContentSize system property.
