This looks good to me as a first step - tested with both config and schema
errors.
Would be nice if single core with the solr.xml also worked, but no biggie - we
can fix with the rest of multi-core.

Well, I think it was supposed to work (even though the whole idea is kind of
broken anway), cause it attempted to, so reason is prob a bug ...
