Jack Madison and I have separately been thinking about working on MMOG engines based on Soya. I wrote down some of my thoughts on my wiki, and I think it's time to start working on some code. Unfortunately, I have allowed the lack of a physics engine in Soya to stop me from moving forward, when I should have been working on other aspects of the client and server.

The only code I have so far is my Soya demo (doesn't everyone have one of those?) I could probably turn this into a client and server without too much trouble.

I can set up a CVS repository on the Soya Savannah page for code once I have something operational or someone contributes a client/server demo of some kind.

A couple of unique things I'd like to do with a Soya MMOG engine are speech for communications and a "real" economy without interference from NPCs and fixed prices. I discuss both of these on my wiki page:
