My initial thoughts are to make soya3d treat filenames that start with a
path seperator as absolute. Thus if a filename is listed as
/path/to/my/thing then any saved .data file would be saved in /path/to/my/


I agree with you about the filename problem (I was conflicting with jiba to have a separate directory for shapes and cal3d shapes). according to me, there are 2 paths you don't want to write into your code:
- the path of your project
- and the path of soya base data
then we should think about the synthax to tell this to soya
