The plus after [\d.] isn't necessary, since now that the optional stuff at the
beginning has been removed there's no difference in what matches between having
the plus and not having it. One possible change (which would actually change
what messages match) would be to require a digit, since we're probably not
interested in matching ". / doorstep" (or whatever). So maybe use '\d[\d.]{0,8}'
in place of '[\d.]+'.
