Well, it should work, but not "correctly". There's emulation there.

If I get a huge amount of time I plan to see about integration with ALSA.
The OSS-Lite in 2.2 just isn't worth it time-wise, especially if people
continue to care about pio-driven hardware, namely, the amd 79c30 in the
older sparcs.
