Please don't spread misinformation. the SS1 most certianly will boot
headless, and is most certianly supported. It will be ungodly slow, but
it's always been ungodly slow and no ammount of kernel hacking can make
a 20Mhz sun4c cpu any faster than it ever was. It just seemed fast when
it was competing with a 16Mhz 386.
Personally, I'm gutting one of my IPC's and turning it into a thermally
insulated lunchbox. It's more useful that way.
