Dear Jürgen,

Thank you for the reply.

Apologies for any confusion my email may have introduce but I am configuring
the model as per the physical IP (“Naturally the model is configured as per
the Physical IP.”)

Checking the menu you are mentioning below I see the WAN IP mentioned under
the “redundancy preferred addresses” but neither one of the physical IP
(X.X.X.65) and an HSRP IP(X.X.X.67) are there.

Do you think I removed the above WAN IP and added the HSRP IP instead the
alarms would not show anymore?

Best Regards,

Georges Touma

Hi Georges,

it maybe just a typo, but reading your mail you are writing that you have
modeled the router with the HSRP address.

Ensure that the device is modeled with their "pysical" not "logical"
interfaces.

Open the information tab of the device and search for the menu redundancy.
In the following window, you can decide what IP should be checked as well,
in case the primary IP is not reachable anymore.

Regards,

Jürgen

Hello Pablo,

Thank you for the reply.

We are using Spectrum version 8.1 SP2.

Can you please elaborate on the manual manipulation you are mentioning?

Any idea what can be done in 8.1 to prevent these alarms from occurring?

Best Regards,

Georges Touma

What is your Spectrum Version?, In Spectrum 90 is possible the manual
manipulation of this address.

Best Regards,

Pablo Vicencio Diaz.

Asunto: [spectrum] network address differs from the Primary Address

Hello Gurus,

We are using spectrum to monitor and manage cisco routers.

Once every while we get the below alarm on some of the routers. The alarms
seem to get generated without any apparent cause.

Device model ( name - Router-a, type - Rtr_Cisco ) has a network address (
X.X.X.65 ) that differs from the Primary Address ( X.X.X.67 ). The
CHECK_GEN_ALARMS attribute for this model is "true".

The router in question has a physical IP (X.X.X.65) and an HSRP IP(X.X.X.67
) configured. Naturally the model is configured as per the Physical IP.

Any ideas why the alarm is getting created and how to resolve this?

Best Regards,
