Hi again, Although I can't use speedtouch-21062001 at all at the moment, I can use speedtouch-BSD-03062001. Except sometimes modem_run dies. The behaviour seems to be random. I don't thing it's related to transfer rates, because I have downloaded entire .iso images in 3 hours. I can recover without rebooting if I killall pppoa2 disconnect my Alcatel, reconnect it and then run /usr/local/bin/modem_run -f /usr/local/src/adsl/alcatel/mgmt/mgmt.o -m /usr/local/bin/pppoa2 -vpi 0 -vci 38 & There is no need to restart ppp. I only discovered /tmp/ppoa2.$$.log this morning, but I have seen lines like: error reading from usb: Input/output error which makes sense. Does anyone know a way that I can reset my modem without disconnecting and reconnecting my modem? That way I could write a script to recover automatically.
