Robin, could you be so kind as to find out what version of modem_run, firmware etc you've had the best results with? I've been connected for a couple of hours with no problems but then only for a few mins and its driving me mad.

The problem also depends on which firmware i use. If i use the firmware from the CD it is terrible, this problem occurs within an hour, if i use the acatel linux one (can't remember which checksums or versions at the moment) it is much much better, as stated above. This is repeatable for both my modems (home/work) on a MDK9.0 and a MDK9.1 system. I never see the error at home as the system is not up for long enough, my work system is up 24/7. > > > Regards > > Robin > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Behalf Of Chris Bolton > Sent: 10 September 2003 11:18 > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: [speedtouch] Re: (No Date: Wed, 10 Sep 2003 10:09:08 +0100 > > > > sorry, I presumed you received the previous emails > > Sep 10 09:58:49 linux kernel: usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout > Sep 10 09:58:49 linux kernel: usbdevfs: USBDEVFS_BULK failed dev 2 ep 0x85 > len 512 ret -110 > > The above messages flood the /var/log/messages log very 3 seconds or so and > access to the internet is not available although the modems are still > connected.
