Kathryn,

That head can be 7-6 off the wall. The limiting factor is the maximum
allowable square footage per head. So if a head is 9-0 off one wall
and 7-6 off the opposite wall the total allowable distance between
heads in the perpendicular direction would be A=SxL or L=A/S or
L=225/16-6 or L=13-6. Since the maximum that this head can be off a
wall in this direction is 7-6 that limits the opposite direction to
6-0. Since these are maximums any configuration that doesn't exceed
these limitations is acceptable.

To play the devil's advocate here; if you are allowed to move one head 1-1/2
ft to making it 9 foot off the wall and you are allowed to go 15 foot to the
next head and that head is allowed to be a max. of 6 foot off the wall
(because 15' - 9' = 6'), isn't the head that is 6' off the wall still
covering 7'-6" in the opposite direction. 225 sq. ft. divided by 18' =
12'-6" not 12'-0", so why the 6'-0" ruling?

Sorry I was referencing the square footage figured when you perform
hydraulic calculations and the demand for the square footage that is
required.
