we protect the present occupancy. The owners are responsible for
modifications for changing and even though they have been able to
ignore it in the past, educating them so they play their part is the
only real answer.

Unfortunately, occupancies change. We've had a discussion here about
protection of indoor swimming pools, and how they can easily become
storage areas.
Of course, talking to the AHJ is still the best first choice.

RE: Racquetball court
Karen - this is a classical case where discussion with the AHJ is
appropriate. I've seen a lot of sprinklered fitness-type buildings
where
there's no sprinkler protection in the racquetball courts. The
potential
for fire is minimal, nothing combustible (except the floor), and the
potential for accidental discharge is 100%. Talk to your AHJ.

Ok guys I need some help. I am trying to find a head that could be
used
in a racquetball court. It has to be a sidewall head because to
top of
the court is the roof. The court is 20' wide which means I
probably need
an extended coverage head. I have talked with Tyco and he had no
suggestions. I know these courts have been around for years so at
some
point someone has sprinkled them Any help would be great.
