On plastic jobs, I instruct my fitters to just use teflon tape on the sprinkler heads. On steel pipe jobs, we tape and dope everything. I worked on power plants for years, and we used anerobic pipe dope without teflon tape quite successfully. Forest Wilson Cherokee Fire Protection
