Responding to a comment regarding voting at International Code Council
Hearings. During the initial "Proposed Changes" hearings any member of the
ICC can call for a vote on the decision made by a committee on a submitted
proposal. This vote is to over turn the committee action. However when it
comes to the Final Action Hearings, as was currently held in Rochester, New
York May 20 to 24, 2007, only Building Code Officials (CBO) or authorized
governmental voting members of the fire departments can vote. At this last
hearing, I representing AFSA and as a 2006/2007committee member of the IBC-
Fire Safety Code Committee, could not vote.
