Correct, and its no longer a car wash either. There are times when we need to look at the big picture and determine if the proposed occupancy, operation and hazard fits within the boundaries of a code or standard. If it doesn't and some component or circumstance presents an issue that is out of bounds then we need to look at our fire protection objectives.
This is just such a situation where the AHJ needs to get involved.
