I have not been able to find a good answer to this question so I turn to my fellow forum readers. When interconnecting standpipes NFPA 14 a.7.5 says it should occur as close as possible to the source of supply as possible. If I have four pipes and three can be connected on the first floor but the third one needs to go over an exposed area can it connect on the third floor to the closest pipe or is there a better way of connecting them.
