Charles,
I would think the 2 story log cabins would seem to fall under 13D.
The bunkhouse could go either way; it may depend on the local Code.
Is the other unit a common kitchen and dining room? If so, that would
fall under the definition of "outside the dwelling unit" and may need
to be protected as 13. Sounds like a little code research needs to be done.
Several years back, I did a 13R system where we used a pump and
fabric tank in the basement. We needed to go to a fairly large tank
to meet the duration. This unit came in pieces, could be brought into
a man door and assembled on site. Worked out OK. If you'd like some
info, let me know and I'll dig through my archives and find it.
This sounds like something similar to Camp Crystal Lake from the
"Friday the 13th" movies. Beware of guys in goalie masks.

Hello sprinklerforum,
This is going to be an interesting scenario. I am looking
at my first 13D or 13R (The local AHJ is not sure what to call it)
system(s) with a storage tank and pump. There will be a total of 4
residential buildings supplied by this pump and tank.
There will be a pair of 2-story log cabins about 30' x 35'
setup like a duplex (1 unit per floor).
There will be a 2 bedroom, kitchen, dining room log cabin
building about 30' x 45'.
There will be a "bunkhouse" log cabin building about about
35' x 85'.
Centrally located Pump/Tank house for power reasons
(Genset). The tank will be refilled from on site wells. Can I
count the inflow rate from the wells against my stored water
requirements for the duration time? If so, Do the wells need to be
powered from a Genset?
I have seen the following pumps advertised and am looking for what
has worked good and what hasn't?
A-C Fire Pump has a 13D unit
The D System has a 13D pump & control and a 13R control without pump.
Advanced Fire Technology, Inc has a 13D and a 13R, Even a 13R pump
with Genset Transfer Switch.
I know there are others out there (I hope). I am open to any and all
suggestions
Thanks
