In a high piled storage building may the 400 ft. egress dimension be used "without" vents if the building is equipped with ESFR sprinklers? 910.1 Exception 2: smoke and heat vents shall not be required in areas of buildings using ESFR sprinklers. Section 1016.2: allows an increase in egress dimension to 400 ft. for a building with sprinklers and vents. Table 2306.2 note j: vents are not required when ESFR sprinklers are installed.
