You do but they are clear in 5.27 from NFPA #20. The piping falls under 9.3
of NFPA 13. There is a provision of flexible isolation if a riser is
included in the fire pump located in 5.27.4. Way I see it, pump and
controllers, and fuel tank do not move. Piping moves or not depending on
requirements of 9.3 Remember, the provisions in 13 define "grooved couplings
on PIPING larger that 2½.. Etc...". It does not distinguish between pump
discharge or not. The other piping falls under the "feed main" category. As
a pipe that supplies cross mains either directly, or thru risers. I see that
to include discharge piping from the fire pump. I may be over applying,
but....
