I'm taking a break from a high-rise we're doing this week. Actually, we had to stop because the garages that take the drain risers are filling with water (18") and the puny pumps they sized for melting snow can't keep up (8 hrs.). So I have a query to throw at you campers. 24 sty. high-rise with 3 levels of parking below grade. We did the standpipes already from 24 down to grade and finishing the spkr. prv's today and tomorrow. I have an exposed manual dry standpipe system in the garage (YIKES!, nada in the Stairs), 4 valves per level with a 6" siamese next to the garage entrance. I'm thinking I need to flow 500-250-250 from 3 of the 4 FDV's in the lowest level but I'm wondering about pressure. The fire pump churns 350, the PE forgot to subtract street pressure when he size the pump (just wanted to mention that part). My concern is with testing this lightwall manual standpipe system. I'm thinking of using the PR FDV's we just set to supply the siamese rather than the header as I don't have PR valves to use and 350# is a lot on LW and 300# couplings. I'm also concerned about only having a siamese but I can use a wye or two to run 3-4 lines to it. What do you guys think? Am I flowing too much? Don't worry about the pressure?
