Well, what does the loop supply? If other fire hydrants, is the AHJ wanting the option to pump up the line to other apparatus or is the FDC intended to serve just the sprinkler system(s)? If the latter, then you'll need an independent FDC's, separated from the loop by a check valve, on each fire sprinkler lateral. If the AHJ actually wants a horizontal standpipe system, what you describe is functional, but not preferred. If there are no private hydrants, then the arrangement sounds okay to me.

The pump in turn feeds a 10" UG fire loop that runs around the building. The FDC connection is located away from the building and connects to the 10" fire loop. A fire hydrant supplied from the municipal water supply is located next to the FDC. So the pumper truck will hook up to the municipal hydrant and pump into the FDC for the UG loop. Do you see any potential problems with a pumper truck, rated for 1700 GPM, pumping into a fire loop supplied by a 2000GPM fire pump? Thanks, Dewayne _______________________________________________ Sprinklerforum mailing list http://lists.firesprinkler.org/mailman/listinfo/sprinklerforum For Technical Assistance, send an email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe, send an email to:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (Put the word unsubscribe in the subject field) __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 3466 (20080923) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 3466 (20080923) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com _______________________________________________ Sprinklerforum mailing list http://lists.firesprinkler.org/mailman/listinfo/sprinklerforum For Technical Assistance, send an email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe, send an email to:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (Put the word unsubscribe in the subject field)
