and it doesn't mean you have a right to take that book and copy the pages of
it; Google was recently sued for copying / digitalizing books and placing
them online.
I had a poor quality GC recently that sent me the payment application forms
he wanted used. He had ran off copies of AIA forms and distributed them to his
 subs.
Anytime I'm required to use AIA forms, I buy them from their website. But,
since the GC gave me these bootlegged copies, I went ahead and used them for
his job only (but I would never copy the form for repeated use).
There are some sprinkler contractors that buy the digital copies of NFPA 25
and run off copies to give their customers. It's a violation of the Terms of
Use Agreement, but is anyone aware of a contractor like the GC I referenced or
sprinkler contractor with bootlegged copies actually brought to task by AIA
or NFPA?

The contractors that engage in this activity have lower costs than those
that choose to do it right.

Note: State of Kentucky (until a year ago) posted the AFSA Sprinkler
Inspection Forms on their website. They wanted all contractors to use them.
When I
got registered in the State, I asked the License Bureau if they paid AFSA for
these since they were copyrighted. Later that year, the state removed them
from the website and told contractors to buy the NFSA or AFSA forms; company
forms were not to be used.
Now, I do not copy the NFSA forms I buy. But I'm sure some contractors do.
Does AFSA or NFSA ever go after them? I doubt it.

I think some attorneys would agree that if you don't actively protect your
rights, you waive them.

There is a big difference between public record and drawing

mean you can sell the movie rights.
