We have an infill project where two separate buildings - as defined by
code - are connected by a covered walkway. Pursuant to the FI in the
sprinkler systems handbook, I'm down with the "separate
building/separate system" approach, but not the architect wants to put
both risers in one of the buildings. Anyone have any idea if there's a
prohibition on this arrangement? We would Christmas Tree the two
risers in one room, and then bulk down the connector to the 2nd
building. Connector is sprinklered, BTW and code-classified as part of
the 1st building, in which the risers are located.
