Roland this being the case, thank you BTW, the loading on these braces
exceeds the allowable load of 240 lbs for open web trusses based on
manufacture data.  I'm assuming, than, that I will need to add a brace on
the branch line (1-1/2"), even though code does not call for it, to pick up
the additional weight at the end of the straight run.  Is this assumption,
in your opinion, correct?

braces and their associated zone of influence are assigned to a straight run
of pipe.  Naturally this is not stated in the standard but if you can follow
a little ciphering by Jethro, you'll arrive at the right answer.  If you
aren't a graduate of an Ivy league school, like Jethro (or Dubya),  looking
at A.9.3.5.3.1 should help.
