In addition to using QR heads, you'll be able to use 200'F. We've seen a lot
of "Mech. rooms" where the 155/175'f residential heads were not 50'f above
room temp.

Subject: 13D in large res mech space

I am working on a large single family house with a mechanical room that is
564 sqft. The ceiling is open to the wood trusses and there are lots of
ducts and wiring in the space. No smooth ceiling and residential pendent
sprinklers cannot be installed with their listing or Code. There are
probably going to be 5 or 6 sprinklers in the room. My thought was to use QR
uprights because nothing else will work. Does this make sense? What would be
the appropriate design criteria? The water supply is a 13D pump and tank.

This is a partial system that is not required by Code and the AHJ could care
less what goes on. He doesn't even want to see the plans.
