Flammability is a 1 yet you say it's a non-combustible?

What is the flash point? What is the chemical?

I believe the consensus here was to protect these types of arrangements based
on Group A plastics. Also consider the possibility of empty containers being
present. There is some discussion concerning the actual hazard present with
containers such as this when filled with non-combustible contents but I don't
recall seeing any hard fast rulings or design criteria based on such.

Subject: Intermediate Bulk Containers

We have been asked to sprinkler a warehouse that will store intermediate bulk
containers (IBC) containing a non-combustible liquid. They are made of high
density polyethylene. MSDS says the flammability is a 1 however we normally
treat polyethylene as a Group A plastic. Has anyone designed a system for this
type of container?

I appreciate the input.
