NFPA 70 only says that "by special permission, smaller working spaces shall be permitted where all exposed live parts operate at not greater than 30 volts rms, 42 volts peak, or 60 volts dc." NFPA 70, 110.26(A)(1)(b) But that has nothing to do with location of pipes.
The rules for the Dedicated Electrical Space under sub-paragraph (F) of the same section give no special allowances for low voltage versus other voltage systems. In Chapter 8 dealing with Communications Circuits, installation is to comply with section 110.3(B) [800.18] 110.3(B) "Installation and Use. Listed or labeled equipment shall be installed and used in accordance with any instructions included in the listing or labeling." It appears that the same rules apply for all electrical spaces regardless of voltage. Craig L.
