13D 1987 as set forth in the 1989 handbook, 4-1.2 Number of design
sprinklers. The number of DESIGN SPRINKLER'S shall include all sprinklers
within a compartment to a maximum of two sprinklers.

The commentary continues "-----It should be clarified that even if more than
two sprinklers are required for coverage in a compartment having a flat

Subject: 13D Question 1988 Edition

I have an AHJ that is telling a designer that there can not be 4 sprinklers
in a single compartment. I was told that he is working off an old standard
from 1988 or so. Anyone have recollection of this.
